I work for Somerset County Council - Youth Service, Finance and Admin. I became a school governor because I was asked to and I am on the Staffing committee. As a school governor I would like to see businesses, clubs and societies being involved in the day to day life of the school, it would bring value to both sides. |

I am the Regional Manager for a waste disposal and recycling company and sit on the Finance and General Purpose Committee. I became a school governor to help out with the running of the school and to develop the school for the future. As school governors we need to develop all aspects of school life so that the school is a happy, safe and secure place for learning for many years to come. |

I am retired. I became a governor because I wanted to support the school in which my grandson is being educated, and I thought that my experience in the commercial world may be of help. I am on the Finance and General Purposes committee. I'd like to see goals set that are unconstrained by resources, and funding that matches the School Development Plan. Now that doesn't sound too difficult! |

I am a local butcher. I became a school governor because I was asked to do so and having spent a long time on the Friends committee it seemed like the next logical step! I am on the Staffing committee, the Future Foundations committee, and I am the governors representative on the Friends committee. I would like to achieve closer links between Governors and the Friends committee. As our budget is more and more constrained by County, the role that Friends plays within the school framework becomes more and more important, I hope that I can help balance the two. |

I am a business analyst in commercial banking with LloydsTSB. I became a school governor to put something back into to the community, and use my finance skills to help the school. It also helps with my own personal development through working with professionals outside a finance environment. I am Vice Chair of the governors, I am on the Finance and Curriculum committees and I am the RE Link governor. I aim to work together with staff and other governors to make Wedmore First School one of the best and happiest schools in Somerset for staff, pupils and parents.
